يا من على بيت الوصي جئت تنادي يا علي
O you who came to the house of the successor, you came calling out "O Ali"
أتدعي حب النبي وتكسر باب الولي؟
Do you claim love for the Prophet, while breaking the door of the Wali?
إن جاءك اليوم هنا ستسقى مر الحنظل
Were he to come before you today, you would be made to drink from the tree of hell
فإنه ليث الوغى وسيف حق أزلي
For he is the lion of battle, and the timeless sword of Truth

الهادي قد قال له: اترك لهم أرض الدنا
The Guide had told him, "Leave to them the land of this world"
والله لولا هذه لقامت الدنيا هنا
By God, were it not for that command, the world itself would have risen here
فاليوم يفضح الردى وكل مكر قد دنا
Today, ruin is laid bare, and every scheme has drawn near
ويوم حق قادم، لكل امرئ ما جنى
And a Day of Truth is coming, when every person will face what he has earned

والله تحيى خيبرا وخندقا حتى أحد
By God, Khaybar will come alive again, and Khandaq, even Uhud
بصرخة ضج الملأ، قد صاح جبريل: أعد
With one cry the assembly thundered, and Jibril cried, "Again!"
عزرائيل قال ناظرا: يا حيدر منك المدد
Azrael looked on and said, "O Haydar, from you comes aid"
فجاءت أملاك السما ترجو عليا في الشدد
Then the angels of heaven came, seeking Ali in hardship

Ali, Haydar, O Karrar
فلا فتى إلا علي، قد دوى صوت في السما
"There is no youth but Ali", a voice thundered through the heavens
وراية الإسلام لا ترضى سواه قائما
And the flag of Islam accepts none but him standing as its bearer
وآية التطهير سل، تجبك فيها "إنما"
Ask the Verse of Purification, and it will answer you with "Indeed"
يذود عن دين النبي وفي الحروب حاسما
He defends the religion of the Prophet, decisive in battle

وآية الولاية سل من الذي بآيها
Ask the Verse of Wilayah who is meant within its words
يؤتي الزكاة راكعا، فحيدر معنى لها
He gives zakat while bowing, so Haydar is its meaning
وأمة جاهلة عادت لماضي عهدها
And an ignorant nation returned to the ways of its former age
ضاربة بنت النبي، حارقة لبابها
Striking the Prophet's daughter, setting fire to her door
