يا صاحب الآية التي في سورة القدر
O possessor of the verse within Surat al-Qadr
ما خاب بل فاز الذي في العشق إذ صلى
The one who prayed with your love will triumph and never fail,
فيك الجمال السرمدي يا صاحب الأمر
Within you is everlasting beauty, O possessor of the Command

ذابت بعشقك فاطمة
Fatima melted in her love for you
أنت الأزل والخاتمة
You are the pre-eternity and the conclusion
دنيا بسيفك لاطمة
The world beats its chest with your sword

My beloved, O Hasan
يا سيد الحب والأجل
O master of love and the appointed end
في الحرب أول من نزل
In battle, the first to descend
كالموت سيفك في الجمل
Your sword was death itself at (the battle of) Jamal

سلمت يمينك في الجمل يا صاحب الثأر
Blessed be your right hand at (the battle of) Jamal, O possessor of vengeance
قد كنت رعبا هاشميا في عينك النار
You were Hashemite terror, with fire in your eye
تبقى ويبقى ذكرك الباقي بأنفسنا
You remain, and your enduring remembrance remains within our souls
مهما كتبت بوصفك ما صنت أشعاري
However much I write describing you, I spare none of my poetry

قلبي بعشقك مبتلى
My heart is afflicted by love for you
قد كنت رحمة للملا
You were a mercy to all creation
نور الولاية كربلا
Karbala is the light of wilayah

في ثغرك الضامي هوى
Into your thirsty lips fell
قلبي يا راهب نينوى
My heart, O monk of Naynawa (river Furat)
ما غاب ذكرك وانطوى
Your remembrance never vanished nor folded away
حبيبي يا حسين
My beloved, O Husayn
في ثغرك الضامي هوى قلبي وإحساسي
Into your thirsty lips fell my heart and all my feeling
إني حسيني الهوى والعشق عباسي
My longing is Husayni, and my love is Abbasi
الأرض ملكك والسما يا حضرة المولى
The earth and the heavens are your dominion, O respected Master
ما دمت أحمل حبك الغالي بأنفاسي
I will always carry your precious love within all my breaths

ماء الحياة وما ظمي
Water of life, what thirst could remain?
أبكيت ماء العلقمي
You made the water of al-Alqami weep
اقبض بكفك معصمي
Take my wrist within your palm

رايات في الطف أقبلت
(Enemy) banners advanced upon al-Taff (Karbala)
من قرب هامك وانحنت
When they drew near your head, they bowed to it
تروي وزينب إذ روت
They tell the story, as Zaynab tells it
أبو فاضل مدد
Abu al-Fadl, we seek your help
رايات في الطف أقبلت والنصر للباقي
(Enemy) banners advanced upon al-Taff (Karbala), but victory belongs to the Everlasting One
اسحق جماجم وانتفض يا حضرة الساقي
Crush skulls and surge forth, O our respected Water-Bearer
ما همه ذاك في العدد، في الطف منتصرا
Those numbers never concerned him, he remained victorious upon al-Taff
يقتل ويذبح في الوغى من سيفه الواقي
He kills and slaughters in the fray with his guarding sword
