O Fatima, O Fatima, O Fatima, O Fatima

✦

Don't leave me

Here is where your death brings my story to an end

The earth has consumed the beauties of the one I love

What a world, when no beloved remains for his beloved

The teeth of the oppressors showed in laughter at my loneliness

I walked, through the darkness of graveyards

I spoke, of what my state will be tomorrow

I wept, I no longer have strength to take pride in

What a huge breaking it is, for one who parts someone priceless

A lifetime whose laughter has gone, and my state has grown dim

I left my strength upon your grave and returned empty

✦

O Fatima, O Fatima, O Fatima, O Fatima

✦

Oh, what deep sorrow for the one…

Who dwells in the graves, when the graves themselves begin to question,

"Who is this resting beneath the dust?" and the ground speaks:

“This is Ali, sitting and speaking out... to whom?!”

And the very dwellers of the graves ache and weep from the pain of his lament.

Separation, no, it is not suitable for me

Patience, has exhausted my state

Life, without her is empty

It is the nature of one who loves, his brokenness shows within his soul

However much he tries to hide it, his wounds expose him

I fall silent, while my eyes speak of the purest love

✦

O Fatima, O Fatima, O Fatima, O Fatima

✦

O, what sorrow

My youth has gone, and there is no return for it

Do not grieve over time because of an affliction

For whenever time turns upon its people

The loss of loved ones is the harshest estrangement

Parting, from my Fatima is extremely difficult

Loss, has made me live in estrangement

A struggle, too heavy for the heart to digest

There is no night that passes me in which I find rest

A back bent as I walk, clutching my sides

Among people, in their laughter, how at ease they are

✦

O Fatima, O Fatima, O Fatima, O Fatima

✦

O my flower

I pass my hand around the ribs, how has this happened?

They have been shattered, and by God, the heart has become broken

The world has closed in upon me, I have become drained of its state

Wretched is it, bitter, if only the bitterness would pass

A stranger, I speak with my own soul

How strange, for my wounds there is no…

Doctor, to quiet my lament

In pain, I spent the remainder of my days

What medicine could cure the ache? It has reached my bones

In the grave, I didn’t only bury my strength, I buried my dreams

✦

O Fatima, O Fatima, O Fatima, O Fatima
