Mamlook al-Husayn (Under the Ownership of Husayn)

الناس على دين ملوكهم

People follow the religion of their kings/owners

وأنا مملوك الحسين

And I am under the ownership of Husayn

قلبي وعقلي للحسين

My heart and my mind belong to Husayn

ديني ودنياي الحسين

My religion and my world are Husayn

ديني ودنياي الحسين

My religion and my world are Husayn

ابگد زبد ماي البحر شفنا البشر أديان

As countless as the foam upon the sea, we have seen religions among mankind

كل من وماخذ درب بي صاير الربان

Each one has taken a path, becoming the captain upon it

وآني ديني اعله القرا فوگ الرمح قرآن

But my religion is the one who recited the Qur'an on top of the spear

ديني على دين الذبيح

My religion follows the religion of the Slaughtered One

بي يشهد النص الصريح

The explicit text bears witness to it

حسين الأمير المطاع

Husayn is the commander who is obeyed

لا عن هوى ولا مشتهى

Not out of whim, nor personal desire

أقصى الأمر والمنتهى

The furthest end and final purpose…

بالطاعة والاتباع

Is through him obedience and following

من صبغة الله السليمة هويته

From the peaceful pure colouring (Spiritual Imprint [2:138]) of Allah, I came to love him

أول عرفته، بعدها بچيته

First I knew him, then I wept for him

لو ما أطيعه أضيع مشيته

If I do not obey him, I lose his path

إثر اتباع الفصيل أمه

As the young camel follows in the tracks of its mother

أتبع آثار الحسين

I follow the traces of Husayn

أمسك حجزة الحسين

I grasp the waistcloth of Husayn

لا أبتغي غير الحسين

I seek none other than Husayn

ديني ودنياي الحسين

My religion and my world are Husayn

وأنا مملوك الحسين

And I am under the ownership of Husayn

قلبي وعقلي للحسين

My heart and my mind belong to Husayn

چن سليمان النبي، بس خاتمه مسلوب

He was a (reflection of) Prophet Sulayman, but only his ring had been stolen

كل ملك عرشه ذهب، وعرشه بوسط الگلوب

Every king's throne is gold, but his throne is in the middle of hearts

والشرف كل الشرف، بملكه صرت محسوب

And all honour, every bit of honour, is that I am counted among what he owns

أسبغ وضوئي بمدمعي

I complete my wudu with my tears

وأفرش مصلاتي نعي

And spread my prayer mat as a eulogy of mourning

والقبلة باب الخيام

And the door of the tents is my qibla

أخشع على ذكر الخدر

I enter sincerity at the mention of the veiled progeny

وأركع ركوعه اعله المهر

And I bow with his bowing upon the horse

رايد يجر السهام

As he seeked to pull out the arrows

وأسجد سجود الرياحي اعله بابه

And I prostrate with the prostration of al-Riyahi (Hurr) at his door

تايب لأبو اليمة حين استتابه

Repentant before the father of the Imams, when he accepted his repentance

أصعب علي من جهنم عتابه

Harder upon me than Hell would be his abandonment

أقسى من خلودي في جهنم

Harsher than my remaining forever in Hell…

علي يعتب الحسين

Would be for Husayn to reproach me

إني أعوذ بالحسين

I seek refuge in Husayn

من ما يغضب الحسين

From anything that angers Husayn

ديني ودنياي الحسين

My religion and my world are Husayn

وأنا مملوك الحسين

And I am under the ownership of Husayn

قلبي وعقلي للحسين

My heart and my mind belong to Husayn

ديني ودنياي الحسين

My religion and my world are Husayn

ديني ودنياي الحسين

My religion and my world are Husayn

كل ملك نعته چذب، وهو الصدگ منعوت

Every king's titles are a lie, but he is described in truth

تاجه يترصع بخت، مو لؤلؤ وياقوت

His crown is studded with fortune, not pearls and rubies

مالك وحكمه نفذ من عالم اللاهوت

A sovereign whose decree came forth from the realm of the divine

الرايد درب بي يهتدي

Whoever seeks a path by which to be guided

كون بإمامه يقتدي

Let him follow the example of his Imam

شگد من خصاله يحوز

How many of his qualities he will gain

وسيل العشگ لمن يسيل

And when the torrent of love begins to flow

كلمن على گده يشيل

Each person carries according to his measure

واليغرف أكثر يفوز

And whoever scoops more from it is the one who triumphs

كل الطمع نوصفه بالمذمة

Every form of greed we describe as blameworthy

إلا الطمع، ياهو أكثر يخدمه؟

Except the greed to see who can serve him more

هذا الحچي رايد الي يفهمه

These words need someone who truly understands them

فالناس لهم همهم وأنا

People have their own concerns, while as for me

همي وغمي بالحسين

My concern and my grief are Husayn

إن كنت أحببت الحسين

If I have loved Husayn

فهل يحبني الحسين؟

Does Husayn love me?

ديني ودنياي الحسين

My religion and my world are Husayn

وأنا مملوك الحسين

And I am under the ownership of Husayn

قلبي وعقلي للحسين
