The seven continents resounded

ولكربلاء حسين حجّت

And to Karbala, for Husayn, they made pilgrimage

إلى الله، إلى الله

To Allah, to Allah

شراع السفينة يمشي بينا، للكربلة راح

The sail of the ship carries us, to the destination of Karbala

اعله باب المدينة سر لگينه، ملتقى أرواح

At the gate of the city, we found a secret, a meeting-place of souls

سألنه الكرة الأرضية: منو أهل العزوبية؟

We asked the entire globe: who are the masters of hospitality?

الزيارة الأربعينية تگول: الشاهد

The visitation of Arbaeen says: "I am their witness"

عراق حسين مد سفرة

Husayn's Iraq spread a sufrah (tray of food)

من الموصل إلى البصرة

(Which spans) from Mosul all the way to Basra

لحد ما توصل الحضرة

Until you reach the Sacred Presence…

عراقك واحد

Your Iraq is one

الحسين جننه الحسين

Husayn, we have become crazy for Husayn

عناوين، حبنه عناوين

Our titles, we have become lovers of our titles

مجانين، أعقل مجانين

Madmen, the sanest of madmen

بالحسين

Through Husayn

نار الكرم للضيف وجّت

The fire of generosity blazed for the guests

ولكربلاء حسين حجّت

And to Karbala, for Husayn, they made pilgrimage

علمنه بدينه

He taught us through his religion

ومن بدينه نعرف منين

And through his religion we know where we come from

يا موسم عشگنه

O season of our love

بيه حصدنه خير الحسين

Within you we harvested the goodness of Husayn

زرعنه بكل شبر راية

We planted a flag in every span of land

حصدنه أجيال مشاية

And harvested generations of walkers

قليلة كلمة هواية

The word "many" is too little

قليلة هواية

Far too little

الحسبنه تتعب عيونه

Whoever tried counting us, his eyes grew tired

مطر مو بشر شافونه

They saw rain, not human beings

عجيبة شلون حسبونه

It's astonishing. How could they ever count us?

مطر مشاية

Walking drops of rain

شيحسبون؟ خلهم يحسبون

What can they count? Let them keep counting

يزيدون، ربعك يزيدون

They increase, your people keep increasing

يتعبون، والله يتعبون

They will tire, by Allah they will tire

What can they count?

ريح العشگ بالكون عجّت

The wind of love stormed through the universe

ولكربلاء حسين حجّت

And to Karbala, for Husayn, they made pilgrimage

إلى الله، إلى الله

To Allah, to Allah

To Allah, a journey to Allah

And to Karbala, for Husayn, they made pilgrimage

إلى الله، إلى الله

To Allah, to Allah

تشوف المواكب عدها واجب

You see the mawkibs (stalls with services for the walkers), they have taken it as a duty

تخدم الجاي

To serve whoever comes

ويگلوله: فدوة

And they tell them: "May we be sacrificed for you

اهديلنه خطوة وإنت مشاي

Gift us even a single step while you are walking"

أبو الموكب دعا هواية

The keeper of the mawkib prayed so much

يا رب ارزقني مشاية

"O Lord, grant me walkers"

يكض بالشايل الراية

He grabs hold of the one carrying the banner

ويبوسه بجدمه

And kisses him at his feet

العجائب سبعة ندريها

We know the Seven Wonders

خدمتك زادت اعليها

Your service has added another above them

السبعة اتعجبت بيها

The seven themselves marvelled at it

عجيبة الخدمة

How wondrous is this service

اليخدمون، كشخة اليخدمون

Those who serve, how splendid are those who serve

ينادون: حيهم، ينادون

They call out: "Welcome them!", they call out

يسهرون لأجلك يسهرون

They stay awake, for your sake they stay awake

Those who serve

هاي الخدم چم عين بجت

How many eyes has this service made weep

ولكربلاء حسين حجّت

And to Karbala, for Husayn, they made pilgrimage

إلى الله، إلى الله

To Allah, to Allah

تشوف الطوائف

You see the different communities

بالمواقف تعشگ حسين

Through their actions, loving Husayn

تره الإيزيدية والسنة

See the Yazidis and the Sunnis

مشي لحسين تتعنه

Making the difficult walk to Husayn

تشوف بكربله الجنة

To see the Paradise Karbala

يا سيد الجنة

O the Master of the Paradise

يا المجنن بني آدم

O you who drive the children of Adam mad

حسين موحد العالم

Husayn, the unifier of the world

چف للذلة ما سالم

A palm that never shook hands with humiliation

إلك نتعنه

For you we made the difficult journey

ديانات، تزورك ديانات

Religions, you are visited by many religions

كرامات، شافت كرامات

Miracles, they have witnessed miracles

رسالات، بدمك رسالات

Messages, within your blood are messages

How many communities have made your love their proof

وبيوم أربعينك

And on the day of your Arbaeen

چف يمينك ينطي للناس

The palm of your right hand gives to the people

البيرغ يعگده

The one who is suffering ties the banner (referring to the flag of Abbas)

العنده شدة عنده عباس

Whoever has a hardship has Abbas

المريض ببابه يتعافى

The sick recover at his door

والأعمى يشوف إذا شافه

And the blind sees, if he sees him

گمر حيرنه بأوصافه

A moon whose qualities leave us bewildered

دخيل أبو فاضل

I seek refuge in Abu al-Fadl

اليحلفه بعمة السادة

Whoever adjures him by the Aunt of the Sayyids (Sayyida Zaynab)

مباشر ياخذ مراده

Immediately receives what he seeks

تره بروحه الكرم عادة

Generosity is a habit within his very soul

ونعم يا الكافل

What a guardian you are, O Kafil (guardian)

اجيناك نبچي اجيناك

We came to you, weeping we came to you

نخيناك، نخدم نخيناك

We call upon you, when serving we call upon you

عرفناك خيمة، عرفناك

We knew you, as a tent we knew you

واجيناك

We came to you

السابع سما صيحتنه رجّت

The seventh heaven was shaken by our cries

ولكربلاء حسين حجّت

And to Karbala, for Husayn, they made pilgrimage
