O Yusuf of Fatima, it has been too long
تعبت من الحچي الجاي
I am tired of all this talk of "he is coming"
شبعد يمطول الجية؟
How much longer will the coming take?
متى تفك للفرج باب
When will you open a door to relief?
يا مهدي اشطول الغياب
O Mahdi, how long this absence has become
يريد الثار راعيه
The vengeance needs its master
أكتب رسالة بدمعتي بس ألمن أنطيها
I write a letter with my tears, but to whom do I give it?
يا ماي، يا فيّ، يا شمس، يمك توديها
O water, O shade, O sun, which of you will carry it to him?
كل ما شفت مهرة الفجر گلت إنت راعيها
Whenever I imagine the horse at dawn, I say you are its rider
كل ما شفت طفلة عطشت گلت إنت ترويها
Whenever I see a little girl thirst, I say you are the one who will give her water
شبت بگلبي الخيم، محتاجك تطفيها
The tents caught fire inside my heart, I need you to extinguish them

يا حلم المساكين
O dream of the poor
يعيش بحضرة حسين
Living in the presence of Husayn
عليك اتفرفح الفقرة
The impoverished are suffocating longing for you
ألم نشرح يملگاك
"Alam Nashrah" (“Have We not uplifted” in the Quran) refers to you
يا قرآن الفجر ذاك
O that Qur'an of the dawn
نسمعه بنبرة الزهرة
We hear it in the tone of al-Zahra
يا مهدي نحبك نصيح
O Mahdi, we cry out that we love you
عشگ وادم فلاليح
The love of simple folk
نقره الندبة عالفطرة
We recite al-Nudba upon the innate faith
ربوني عالفطرة هلي والخدمة عالنية
My family raised me upon the innate faith, and upon service with sincere intention
شباچ جدك من نزوره نشربه أميّه
When we visit your grandfather's shrine, we drink from his water
كل الهوه الما بي علي ما يدخل الريّة
Any air that does not contain Ali does not enter the lung
والما يلوذ برايتك معروفة تاليه
And whoever does not seek refuge beneath your banner, his end is known
يا غيرة الله، طلعتك عايش على طاريها
O Allah’s protectiveness, I live upon the thought of your appearance

شنو إحساسك يا مولاي
What do you feel, my master
من تمر عالماي
When you pass by the water
وتذكر عمتك بهيمة
And remember your aunt in suffering?
هم تحضر تشابيه
Do you too attend the reenactments
وتسمع جدك يصيح
And hear your grandfather cry
أخذوني وعوفوا الخيمة
"Take me, and leave the tents alone"
عذرا لو جرحناك
Forgive us if we wounded you
وقرينا اعله السبي ذاك
When we recited that captivity
وذكرنه المجلس وضيمه
And recalled its oppression in the majlis
نذكر تفاصيل الجرح وگليبك انكسره
We recount the details of the wound, and your heart breaks
كلهم أعزاز، المشكلة يا موقف انعبره
They are all dear to you, the problem is, which scene can we pass over?
من آخر وداع العلي والباب والعصرة
From Ali's final farewell, to the door and the crushing
نقرالك أرباب العلل بالدمعة والحسرة
We recite to you of the masters of affliction, with tears and heartbreak
الطف أكبر من الذكر، من يا كتر نلغيها
Al-Taff is greater than remembrance can contain, from which side could we leave any of it out?

غرّت جدمي الدروب
The roads deceived my feet
أريدك تستر أعليه
I want you to cover me
تايه ما أعرف وين
Lost, not knowing where I am
وأجيت المجلس حسين
I came to the majlis of Husayn
يا مهدي أحچيلك البيه
O Mahdi, let me tell you what is with me
أبچي وتغسل الشوگ
I weep until the longing is washed
أگص ذنبي من العروگ
Cut my sin out from the veins
ورُد عمري عالريّة
And return my life to my lungs
أعذرني لو كل جمعة يمك عرضوا أعمالي
Forgive me if every Friday they present my deeds before you
والله يا مولاي طيشي يدوم حسبالي
By God, my master, I thought my recklessness would last forever
الحمد لله عالخدامة الصلحت التالي
Praise be to God for the service that set my ending right
ودموع مجلس فاطمة اليخلد أفعالي
And the tears of Fatima's majlis that make my deeds endure
هاذي ساعة خدمتك من يا دموع أوفيها
This is but one hour of serving you, with what tears could I ever do it justice?

Necks have become cheaper than water
عجل وارفع الراية
Hasten and raise the banner
ألا من ناصر تصيح
You will cry, "Is there any helper?"
الكرامة تگوم وتطيح
Dignity rises and falls
واليعثرونها هواية
And many are those who trip it
الملح شارد من الناس
The salt has fled from the people
المگابر تحلم بياس
The graveyards dream of plants
محد ياخذ أحچاية
No one takes your words
عجل يا بن خير العمل، مولاي ملينه
Hasten, O son of the Best of Deeds, my master, we are weary
الرايات كثرن سيدي واشتبهن أعلينه
The banners have multiplied, my master, and become confused to us
كلمن يطلع معجزة لبياض چفينه
Everyone brings out a miracle from the whiteness of his palms
وهواي عدنه أعور گلب، مولاي مو عينه
And many among us are one-eyed in the heart, my master, not the eye
هاذي صهلت مهرتك وتدور براعيها
Here, your horse has neighed and is searching for its rider
